We accept PPO plans with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, and United Healthcare.
H.O.P.E. Counseling is also paneled with Medicare.
At this time, we do not accept Medicaid insurance plans; however, “sliding scale” options may be available to those who qualify.

Our offices are conveniently located off of I-88 near Winfield Road, and we love to meet clients in person; however, we do offer Telehealth on a HIPAA-compliant platform. Some clients choose a hybrid option where they sometimes meet virtually and other times go in person. The choice is yours!
Please note: clients who choose the Telehealth option must be in the state of Illinois at the time of the session in order for insurance to be applied. -
The type of work we do in therapy is different for each person. Using a tailored approach, we will work collaboratively to ensure you are comfortable with the methods we utilize in session. In order for therapy to be effective, your participation is crucial. While we are person-centered therapists, we will also challenge you when necessary in order to affect change in your life.

Most people start therapy on a weekly basis, although this varies based on need or availability.
Once you are feeling better and progress through your goals, we will mutually make the decision to reduce your sessions to every 2-3 weeks.
Then when you are closer to “graduating” from therapy, we will again reduce the frequency of our sessions (ex: once a month or every 6 weeks) until we mutually agree that you’re ready to end therapy.
-
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee any specific end date because it depends on many factors. Your current circumstances; trauma history; potential barriers; frequency of visits; and your personal goals—these are all things that may impact how quickly you progress through therapy.

Your level of commitment and active participation are crucial to your success. It will be essential for you to complete therapeutic assignments (aka “homework”) on your own, outside of sessions. This can include:
* skill development
* watching videos or listening to podcast episodes
* reading recommended psychoeducational materials
* reflection through journaling
It may also be helpful to keep a folder and/or notebook specifically for our work together. Lastly, your attitude towards therapy can significantly impact your outcome. An open mind and willingness to try challenging things will help you achieve personal growth. -
We take confidentiality very seriously because it’s the law (HIPAA) and the effectiveness of therapy depends largely on the trust that is built between a client and their therapist.
Generally speaking, what you say in session stays in session. There are very few exceptions to breaking confidentiality:
- Someone is hurting you
- You plan to hurt someone
- You plan to hurt yourself
- You give permission to share -
We are not able to prescribe medication; however, we can connect you to clinicians who can provide this service.

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled session..
There is a $75 “late cancellation” fee if you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice. If you do not notify us at all, you will be charged a $100 “no show” fee. In most cases, you can avoid these fees by rescheduling your session within the same week.
