Maria Goldstein, owner of H.O.P.E. Counseling, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who enjoys working with adults, older adults, and couples. She earned her Master of Social Work degree at Aurora University, with concentrations in gerontology, medical, and faith-based social work. Maria was recognized as the 2018 recipient of the George Williams Legacy of Social Work Award by the School of Social Work faculty for her commitment to the social work profession, academic excellence, personal growth, and interpersonal skills.

Maria’s career has been in various settings, including a community center, Veteran’s Administration hospital, home health agency, and private practice. She is experienced in working with various presenting issues (see below). Maria is an ally of LGBTQ+ individuals and celebrates diversity and inclusion.

Maria considers the client/therapist relationship to be the most important factor in the effectiveness of counseling and is committed to providing compassion, support, and encouragement to help her clients create a healthier and happier quality of life. Because she understands that each person has unique needs, Maria tailors the therapeutic process using evidence-based practices to provide the most beneficial, effective, and enjoyable experience possible. She is currently seeing clients in Naperville, as well as offering the option for Telehealth.
